Yes, the Housing Commission serves individuals and families that are considered either extremely low-income (income no more than 30% of area median income) or very low-income (income no more than 50% of area median income).

2. How do I apply for housing with the Housing Commission?

Please complete the waiting list application and return it to our office located in the Harborview Apartments, 273 Sixth Avenue, Manistee, MI 49660.

3. Does the Housing Commission give rental preference to any group or groups of people?

Yes, we give preference to:

Those who are working at the time of application and leasing.  Those who are veterans.  Those who are homeless.

4. What rental units does the Housing Commission manage?

Single family homes located throughout Manistee One (1) bedroom, one (1) bath unit (duplex) ranging in size from 625-695 square feet Two (2) bedroom, one (1) bath unit (duplex or single) ranging in size from 800-920 square feet Three (3) bedroom, one (1) bath ranging in size from 900 – 1,100 square feet Four (4) bedroom, one and one half (1½) bath unit 1,250 square feet
