History
The Marina Building was constructed in 2011 and is universally accessible and includes technology upgrades, amenities for boaters, public restrooms and conference room overlooking the Manistee River. In 2009, a new universal accessibility lift to assist boaters was installed at the City Marina. This lift is for use by the general public and not limited to boaters staying at the marina.
The South Riverwalk connects the marina to both Downtown Manistee and Douglas Park / First Street Beach. Pedestrian walkways and benches are located among the trees and grassy areas. The marina is located on the south bank of the Manistee River on West River Street, near Pine Street, adjacent to the Central Business District. The major activity is boating and there is a fee for docking.
