Business owners who would like to locate or expand their existing business in the City of Manistee should contact Mr. Rose to see if they qualify for any economic incentives. Mr. Rose also serves as the brownfield director for the City of Manistee. The city is proud to offer incentives to assist in the restoration of obsolete properties.

About Mr. Rose
Mr. Rose has been with the city since 1991. He brought with him expertise gained as the county building inspector and soil erosion control officer and as a general building contractor. His duties upon starting with the city included building official, plan reviewer, zoning administrator, soil erosion control officer and code administrator.

Upon the retirement of the former director in 1996, Mr. Rose was appointed to the position of community development director. In addition to duties of the community development director, Mr. Rose oversees the Building Department, Planning and Zoning Department, liability insurance and building maintenance (City Hall and Ramsdell Theatre). Mr. Rose is a state licensed builder, certified citizen planner, master citizen planner and is a member of the Michigan Association of Planning.
