The Parks Commission is charged with an advisory role on parks development, maintenance, improvements and identifying planning and implementing public and private beautification projects. The Parks Commission is established under Chapter 276 of the Codified Ordinances and 289 of the Codified Ordinances.
Parks Commission By Laws
The City of Manistee's Adopt-A Park program aims to unite, support and educate all people interest in preserving and maintaining our beautiful park system.
To be eligible to apply for grants, a community must have an approved, five-year recreation plan on file with Grants Management of the Department of Natural Resources. Information contained in the plan will be used by Grants Management staff in scoring applications.
