City Construction Projects


Construction updates for the week of October 17

RDIA – Lining

This past week

  • No work was performed this week

 Upcoming week

  • IPR & sub-contractors will be working on US-31 for punch list items for the next two weeks with traffic control 
  • Traffic control scheduled to be set up on Tuesday Oct 19, and taken down on Friday Oct 22
  • Additionally, traffic control scheduled to be set up on Monday Oct 25, and taken down on Friday Oct 29 


RDIIA – Conveyance

This past week

  • No work was done, still awaiting the tunneling to be completed

 Upcoming week

  • Start excavation for sanitary sewer once railroad tunneling is completed for Headworks building


RDIIB – Treatment Facility

This past week

  • Poured last of the Headworks grade level walls
  • Removed scaffolding and forms inside Headworks lower level
  • Prepped for Jack and Bore under RR tracks
  • Set rebar for tank no. 3 floor slab
  • Installed storm sewer
  • Pressure tested piping
  • Backfilled around north, south, and east sides of headworks

 This upcoming week

  • Start lying exterior block walls on headworks building
  • Pour concrete supports for jack and bore
  • Installing rebar for tank no. 3 floor slab and headworks grade level slabs
  • Backfill and compact around headworks building


Riverbank Erosion & Riverwalk repairs

This past week

  • Painted railing for Riverwalk
  • Started spreading sand backfill in Reach A

 Upcoming week

  • Continuing spreading sand in Reach A
  • Prepping sidewalk through the staging area to be poured
  • Cleaning up around the site


2021 Streets (Jackson, Van Buren, Jefferson, 8th Street)

This past week

  • Removed poor subsoil material on Jackson Street from the Jackson Street and Jefferson Street intersection toward the East, ending at the top of the hill
  • Replaced poor soils with sand and rough graded the sand subbase
  • Removed cinder material on Jefferson Street 

 Upcoming week

  • Continue removing cinders on Jefferson and Jackson Streets
  • Machine grading and compacting sand subbase on Jackson Street, and continue bringing in road gravel
  • Begin machine grading and compacting sand subbase on Jefferson Street
  • US-31 from Monroe Street to Harrison Street to be constricted down to two lanes for Thursday, Oct 21, and Friday, Oct 22 for making the final water main tie-ins to complete the loop.


Municipal Roofs

This past week

  • Worked on addressing remaining pump house building items
  • Working with plumber and roofing contractor on the City Hall’s southeast drain leak
  • No roofing work was completed due to the weather
  • Met with Facility Manager, Fire Chief, and gutter contractor to pick out gutters for City Hall, Waterworks, and Fire Station

 Upcoming week

  • Potentially start work on Firehall work depending on weather


Municipal Marina Dock Replacement Phase II

This past week

  • Reviewed contractor shop drawings
  • Contractor purchased materials for fabrication of docks

 Upcoming week

  • Processing and reviewing shop drawings sent in by the Contractor
